Keep Tahoe Blue News Jan 26, 2011 The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency has released for public review the draft environmental documents for a proposed all-season resort at Homewood Mountain Resort on Tahoe’s West Shore. The plans call for hundreds of residential and hotel units along Highway 89, a two-lane road that already experiences significant summertime traffic gridlock. The project will include a 77-foot-tall lodge, and add 25,000 square feet of commercial space for a retail village. The project will increase Homewood's overall development footprint - called "hard coverage" - by an astounding 25 acres. Read more about the League’s concerns on the project. The draft EIR/EIS will be available for review and comment from January 21 and to March 21, 2011. Read the EIS at the TRPA’s website. Public meetings and presentations are scheduled through February to provide a public venue for discussion of the DEIS. TRPA and Placer County are encouraging the public to be familiar with the documents and stay involved by providing input on this project. Public hearings dates and times:
