Annette Poliwka
Annette Poliwka has championed environmental sustainability for over twenty years. Currently a Zero Waste Consultant, her career highlights include being appointed to the Berkeley Zero Waste Commission, policy and program work for the US Environmental Protection Agency in New York and Washington DC, and legislation research and implementation for the City of San Francisco Department of Environment. Civic responsibility is a priority for Annette. She is a Board Member of National Cleanup Day and serves on the Executive Committee of the Global Recycling Council of the California Resource Recovery Association.
Annette holds an MS in Environmental Management from the University of San Francisco and a BA in Mass Media Communications from Fairfield University, with certificates in Business from Georgetown and Sustainable Fashion from FIT. An avid skier and hiker, Annette calls Incline Village home.
She advocates for the protection of Lake Tahoe and the basin for scientific reasons, but especially because the gem serves as a sanctuary for the quiet connection that humans make with nature. She joined the board in 2022.
