With the three-day weekend drawing toward a close, traffic is backing up on U.S. 50 through Meyers toward the Y in South Lake Tahoe.
Both Caltrans and the city of South Lake Tahoe noted the current traffic backup in separate social media posts Monday afternoon. The city suggested those who planned on leaving town Monday afternoon consider staying “a little longer” to avoid sitting in traffic.
A Google Maps search Monday afternoon estimated it would take 2 hours and 38 minutes to travel from South Lake Tahoe to Placerville in current traffic conditions.
