Lake Tahoe has world-class bike trails. When you ride a bike instead of driving, you’re helping to Keep Tahoe Blue.
In 2017, the League collaborated with LimeBike to launch a bike share pilot on the South Shore. Customers use an app to rent a bike or electric scooter, which are found widely all over South Tahoe.
During the 2017 pilot, nearly 6,000 people used the system, making 12,000 trips that added up to 10,000 miles ridden.
In 2018, during the first six weeks of service, 19,000 people made trips totaling more than 52,000 miles. So far this year, 30 percent of all trips have started at a transit stop, truly addressing the “last mile” problem.
