Trump’s plans to weaken pollution rules threaten Lake Tahoe, experts say

The effort by Republican President Donald Trump to weaken air pollution regulations could threaten the health and clarity of Lake Tahoe.

Trump’s administration is pushing a variety of rollbacks that could reverse air quality improvements of recent decades. Among them are regulations that govern fuel economy standards and tailpipe emission controls for cars and trucks.

Rollbacks would have nationwide air quality ramifications at Lake Tahoe and beyond, according to leading national experts on air quality and people who study Lake Tahoe.
