Phil pursued a concurrent dual career since the late 1980s at his San Francisco based private investment firm, Horizon Holdings, LLC, and as an active board member, operating partner and flag waver for high impact non-profit organizations, especially in the human services and education fields.  His educational background includes studying both earth science and business. Before relocating to the Nevada side of the lake in 2021, Phil and his wife and three children enjoyed more than two decades as four season visitors to Lake Tahoe. 

Phil especially treasures kayaking and watersports in the calm and pristine summer and fall early mornings on Lake Tahoe with friends. Phil is a US Coast Guard certified boat captain, a private pilot and a drummer in an aspiring rock band. Given his experience in and passion for the marine industry and the associated outdoor lifestyle, Phil hopes to bring an energetic and good-natured perspective to the League on topics including preservation of water clarity and protection from invasive species, water safety and responsible and affordable lake access and use for all.   

Phil joined the League board in 2024.
